Topaz

Topaz is our newest alpaca, coming from a farm where he was the last of the herd and needed some new buddies! True to his name, Topaz is quite a gem! He is a bit shy but his peaceful demeanor and sweet face have quickly made him a visitor and volunteer favorite!

Alpacas are part of the camelid family and the easiest way to tell the difference between alpacas and llamas is by their ears. Alpacas typically have straight ears while the llama’s are curved, almost like a banana!

Come say “hi” to our sweet Topaz! Like most alpacas, they aren’t always fond of being approached but if you move slowly and let him come to you, you’ll likely find a new friend and enjoy a very unique experience!
