Abby.
You can recognise Abby as the fully brown horse with no white stripe on her face. She was rescued from a feedlot by SAS when she was just three years old. She was rescued with her 3-week-old baby, who we named Magic, because these two are magical! Both were unbroken at the time of their rescue, which made them higher risk for feedlots. Both were very sick, and Abby had several injuries as well. We brought them to the sanctuary and met our vet there to give these two the immediate care they needed. Later, we brought Abby to a professional trainer who worked with her for 3 months. Abby was a quick and gentle learner who has become a sweet, safe horse for all levels of riders. Nearly three years later, we took Magic to be trained as well, and her trainer fell in love with her. We ended up letting the trainer keep her, and now she is a model horse for horse clinics around the country. Abby is usually in the horse pasture or the arena with Zoey and Pepper, but when the weather is warm, they sometimes are moved to the back pasture.
